Weekly Wrap-Up

This week we met Julia – the Obama Campaign’s virtual poster girl for Big Government. You can watch the slideshow here, and marvel at the inalienable rights given to Julia by her creator, Barack Obama.  

 

As John Podhoretz points out, the Obama campaign’s message is “that women need government programs from cradle to grave if they want to have a productive life.”

The Heritage Foundation offers “A Better Life for Julia.”

 

In Human Events, David Harsanyi tags the government dependence Julia represents as “implicitlyun-American, in the sense that it celebrates a mindset we have -- outwardly, at least -- shunned.”

Here’s hoping that the American people continue to shun this welfare-state liberalism on November 6th.

As you can see from this outstanding interview we posted earlier in the week, there’s a top-notch candidate for the U.S. Senate who shuns Big Government: Wendy Long, who continues to build momentum and gain support from New York conservatives.

 

Wendy Long spoke with National Review about her vision for “a federal government that is smaller, less intrusive, and less burdensome to Americans in their daily lives, but also more vigorous in protecting America and her interests in the world.”

She cites a number of issues where Gillibrand has gone against the interests of New Yorkers – everything from ObamaCare and abortion-on-demand to taxes and deficit spending to foreign policy and national security. This week we also saw our President giving our enemies too much information and taking too much credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden...

...and abandoninga courageous Chinese dissident in the hopes (according to Hillary Clinton) that the Chinese Communists who placed him under house arrest in the first place will now be nice and handle his paperwork quickly so he and his family can leave the country...

Obama will need all the Julias he can conjure up to overcome his abysmal record.
