Round Two Tonight...

The NY Sun opines that the Biden Sideshow set the stage for tonight.

Do you think any questions will be asked regarding Senator Tom Coburn, MD new report on wasteful government spending in 2012?  Amtrak, VP Biden favorite travel mode, loses big money on snacks.  Snacks, are you kidding, snacks, if Amtrak was a private corporation, the person in charge of ordering would be long gone.  Let's face it, if Amtrak was a private corporation, it would be long gone.

The Heritage Foundation would like these 5 issues that have not been covered yet to be discussed.

Are you paid to be "dumb" at work?  Apparently this woman is.   Just remember, your tax dollars pay her salary.

Just in case you have forgotten,  take one minute to remind yourself what President Obama said in March of this year when he attended the Nuclear Security Council Summit in Seoul, Korea.

Contrast in leadership.  The current Commander-in-Chief is a cold-hearted, detached from the ravages of war, person unable to comfort fallen heroes families.

Look what the Chairman of the Democratic National Convention wants now.  Do you think if Eric Holder remains as Attorney General, this will be the same type of problem Holder has with a photo ID for voting?

Want to lower gas prices, this is what you need to do.

George Soros meet Thomas Peterffy, the smart Hungarian-born billionaire.

Vote them out.

And we though they were gone.

Mr. Hammond, the Governor will get the praise you want for him, when he accomplishes more than the "window dressing" he has to date.  Where is the real fiscal reforms?  Where is the needed mandate relief? Two years and only slight changes, remember last December when the Legislators came back to Albany to pass the millionaires tax?  What are they planning for us this year?  Pay increases?  Superficial change are just that:  superficial.

Tuesday's with Thomas Sowell.

The Washington Examiner opines on  VP Biden's debate malarkey.  Michael Barone thinks President Obama and VP Biden are campaigning as if we were still in the 1980's.

One would think David Axelrod and Susan Rice have only one playbook when it comes to Benghazi and the outright murder of four American citizens.

Honestly the arrogance of President Obama is mindbogglingly!  Can you believe he said this?

The Heritage Foundation reminds us that the Cuban Missal Crisis was fifty years ago this week...fifty years from now will  anyone be able to say the current administration did all it could do to protect America after four Americans were so brutally murdered?

Well now, the true colors of Senator Charles Schumer are showing.  "The antireformer is Chuck Schumer, the Senator from Wall Street, er, New York, who averred at the National Press Club last week that his party will have nothing to do with tax reform of the kind that Ronald Reagan negotiated with Democrats in 1986, or that the Simpson-Bowles deficit commission proposed in 2010, or that the Gang of Six Senators have been working on. It's Chuck's way or no way."  What should make you stop and think is that while we know we will never change the Senator's way of thinking, we certainly do not need his clone, Senator Gillibrand, returned to office for six years.

Do you want two Senators from New York who do not look after your interest and only want to tax us more?  Or do you want a strong fiscal conservative, Wendy Long, to speak up for us? The next three weeks are critical, you and only you, can make a difference.  Do all you can to help elect Wendy Long, your future depends on it.

Weekly Wrap-Up

Big Bird, Big Bird, Big Bird… who could have imagined that the star of Sesame Street would become the President’s center of attention this week?

“The Middle East is ablaze, the country drowning in debt, the fiscal cliff looming — and Obama's great pitch is that only he can save the $130 million enterprise that is the Sesame Workshop?” asks Charles Krauthammer.

Rich Lowry asks in the New York Post, “The Corporation for Public Broadcasting gets more than $400 million a year from the federal government. If this is an essential expenditure at a time of $1 trillion deficits and a $16 trillion debt, what’s nonessential?”

Even Democrats are beginning to question Obama’s obsession with Big Bird. “They worry the president looks small by enlisting the eight-foot costume bird in his defense,” according to this report – as well they should.

There were no Big Bird sightings in last night’s vice-presidential debate, but Big Biden took center stage. The verdict: Miss Manners would not be pleased.

“Abject rudeness,” reports Jennifer Rubin in the Washington Post.

“By unofficial media counts, Mr. Biden interrupted the Republican some 80 to 100 times,” the Wall Street Journal informs us, noting that: “The carnival act contributed to the least illuminating presidential or vice presidential debate of our lifetimes.”

“Biden Bombed,” reports Fred Barnes in the Weekly Standard, adding: “You don’t win a nationally televised debate by being rude and obnoxious.”

The Heritage Foundation skips the style analysis and offers up the facts on the issues that were on the table last night.

And about that Middle East that’s ablaze – Biden added fuel to the fire. He followed the “When all else fails, blame the intelligence community.”

He took an “ignorance is bliss” approach to the added calls for extra security before the Libya attacks.

Through all of which the Vice-President is simply following the White House playbook: “More Benghazi Lies.”

And via Greta Van Susteren, we learn that the security threats facing America continue to grow more and more terrifying…

It all leads to one question: Do you believe that America’s citizens, cities, troops, diplomatic corps and overseas interests are in grave danger with Barack Obama at the helm?

Give your vote today in our new Weekly Poll.

And have a great weekend!

VP Debate Night - Biden vs. Ryan

No one expected the first presidential debate to have almost 68 million viewers, very few of whom were disappointed.  Tonight's debate between VP Biden and Cong. Ryan should have almost as many viewers due to the turn around of October 3rd.  The NY Sun believes Ryan will "wipe the floor with Biden"  and to be honest I am eagerly looking forward to that possibility.

The Heritage Foundation has 10 questions for tonight's debate.  The first question under foreign policy is the one I would like answered by VP Biden in light of the testimony given in the Congressional hearings.
The Washington Examiner is non too pleased with President Obama's and his Administrations handling of the murder of 4 Americans in Benghazi.   I'd also like VP Biden to explain where are the 5 million Green Jobs are that were promised with the $90B set aside in  the stimulus money.

Economist Larry Kudlow is feeling better  about the November elections.

Michael Barone opines on the Rule of Law.

The IRS isn't too happy with the fact that Solyndra has filed for bankruptcy.

Affirmative Action is back before the US Supreme Court.

Here in New York, the NY Daily News says no more delays for hydrofracking.

Friday is the last day to register to vote in this year's elections.   Click here for your local county Board of Elections if you need to register.  Send the link to family members turning 18 and people who have moved in the last year.  It is your civic duty to vote for the candidate who best reflects what you believe in; the freedoms that made America the greatest nation in the world or government dependency that stifles what made the US great.

Pay attention New Yorkers:  Senator Charles Schumer does not have your best interest as your Senator when he says this lowering the rate paid by top earners makes no sense in an age of rising income inequality and soaring debt..  As we learned yesterday, New York is the most taxed state in the country and Senator Schumer is looking to keep New Yorkers tax rate high disregarding the cost of living in New York.  Senator Schumer is wrong, his knowledge of economics is erroneous and most distressing is that the Junior Senator from New York State will vote as Senator Schumer tells her to vote, without regard to what it will cost New Yorkers.  Make a difference, vote for Wendy Long, for US Senate!  We need to be represented by a woman, Wendy Long,  who understands just how devastating Senator Schumer's goals are!

Our US Senate candidate, Wendy Long, wants people to work and be successful and understand that taxing high earners at the rate Sen. Schumer is calling for, 39.6%, does nothing to help the economy, in fact it harms the economy.

George J. Marlin's take on New York's economy.

Speaking of the economy and the energy independence hydrofracking would bring to New York, read what the environmentalists are trying to do in the small community of Las Vegas, New Mexico.

The Washington Examiner examines how Obamacare/tax is effecting the job market currently.  Of course, if you work for Darden Restaurants (Olive Garden/Red Lobster) you already know. According to a new study, Obamacare/tax has already cost $26.7B and 30,000 jobs. It is all about the economy and right now the economy is pretty grim, imagine another 4 years under this "leadership" and think about who can best lead the economic growth we need.

All you need to know about the Dodd-Frank bill is here, it is time to demand repeal of Dodd-Frank and numerous other bill harming our economy.

Seriously?  Even I didn't think President Obama was this delusional, too polite?  Then again, he and his campaign keep talking about Big Bird.

While they focus on Big Bird, the Department of State is changing its assessment of the Libyan murders.

Wednesday's with Walter E. Williams and Thomas Sowell writes about Race Cards.

Governor Andrew Cuomo earned a grade of "D" from the CATO Institute in their latest Fiscal Policy Report Card on America's Governor's: 2012.   You can read the whole report here.  CATO states that "much more needs to be done to reduce government spending in New York" precisely what we have said for years!

And according to the Tax Foundation, New York ranks number 50 in the 2013 edition of the State Business Tax Climate Index based in part by having the worst individual income tax rate. Read more here on how New York compares to the other 49 states.

While on the tax subject, the NY Post has an article on the cigarette tax and how it does nothing to curb smoking.  Read the great cigarette tax lie here.  High cigarette taxes do little to curb smoking, but higher taxes promote illicit trade in cigarettes (both smuggling and counterfeiting).  (Education into the long term effects of smoking is the best way to curb an unhealthy but legal product.)

Cigarettes are a legal product constantly under attack as detrimental to your health, but this November, on Election Day. three states, will vote on the recreational use of marijuana, still a Schedule 1 Drug according to the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the President and Attorney General have not spoken out against this proposal.  Why not?  “We need to understand that drugs and gangs go hand in hand,” says Paul Chabot, who advised Presidents Clinton and Bush on drug policy. “They destroy communities. What we have to do is work keeping people off this stuff, not liberalizing policies.”

The Heritage Foundation with more on President Obama's failing foreign policy.

Read what Lt. Col. Andy Wood told CBS News here.

Investors Business Daily explains how a 47% dependency on government helped Hugo Chavez win his election Sunday. (Hmm, 47%, where have we heard that number before?)

Charles Payne opines on Friday's jobs numbers.  So does Cal Thomas.

Happy Columbus Day

Kathryn Jean Lopez has a delightful interview with Judge James L. Buckley in National Review Online.
Remember in 1970 when we elected Jim Buckley to the Senate despite terrible odds?  All things are possible if you work hard to overcome the odds.  Our 2012 US Senate candidate, Wendy Long, knows she is running uphill, but that fact does not deter her determination.  If you don't want more of this, do what you can now to help elect Wendy Long to the United States Senate.  Click here to help Wendy Long.

Jim Geraghty opines on why he (Obama) is falling apart.

Ken Blackwell writes about the Obama Mandate.

The New York Sun critiques Governor Romney's speech today on foreign policy.

Uncollected tolls on Thruway hit $35 Million....yet Thruway still wants a 45% increase in tolls.
