Weekly Wrap-Up

“It was stale and empty. He's out of juice.” That’s PeggyNoonan’s blistering take on Obama’s acceptance speech – and overall the response hasn’t been much more positive than that.

“Promises, promises,” says the New York Post in an editorial that also reflects on the countless broken or unkept promises Obama has already made to the nation.

John Podhoretz calls the speech “a surprise flop.”

Charles Krauthammer brands Obama’s address “one of the emptiest speeches I have ever heard on a national stage,” and deems Michelle Obama’s “the convention’s most brilliantly cynical speech.”
What was missing? Obama skipped out on health care... the stimulus... the battle over voter ID laws...

Overall, the Democrats’ convention showed them to be the party “of, by and for the government.”

“Stale and empty,” “out of juice” – that could describe our economy after this morning’s jobs report...

What do you think are the best ways to create jobs and get the economy moving again? You have plenty of choices in our new Weekly Poll. Vote today!

And have a great weekend.
