Thoughts at the end of the first week of 2010...
No more praise for Gov. Paterson for talking about the need to rein in spending. It’s just talk – and it rings especially hollow when that talk is followed by calls for task forces and “investments” in new government programs... i.e. more talking and more spending.
But hey, according to Gov. Paterson himself, we’re not supposed to keep track of what he actually accomplishes. What he says is more important, the Governor has announced.
What was Gov. Paterson's job before he became Lt. Governor and then Governor? Oh, right, he was in the State Senate... Senate Minority Leader, actually. So when he talks about all the problems that state legislature has caused, let’s not forget that for quite some time he was part of that problem.
All the intelligence that was missed or misinterpreted before the Ft. Hood shootings and the Christmas Day bombing attempt... and the Obama Administration expects New Yorkers to believe that we’ll be safe with a terrorist on trial here in our state?
New jobless figures out today show that President Obama can’t be trusted with America’s economic security either. How can any business be hiring new workers or expanding operations when new health care costs and regulations and higher taxes are on the horizon?
The Democrats are ringing in the new year with a new marriage penalty. Their health care “reforms” just keep getting worse and worse.
According to Stephen Moore in The Wall Street Journal, this is not shaping up to be a good year for taxpayers, unless you happen to die.
Another day, another defeat for gay marriage – this time in New Jersey.
Looks like health care is your pick for the biggest story of 2009. This is a story that’s not going anywhere. It’s close to passage, but ObamaCare is not quite a done deal yet. And if it does pass – Americans are not going to be happy when they learn the details of the taxes and spending hidden in this bill... which means politicians up for reelection this year might not be feeling so great.
In our poll about the biggest story of 2009, Gov. Paterson got zero votes. He might want to get used to not getting too many votes this year.

will you be streaming any of the speakers for the annual conference- for those of us who would LOVE to attend but cannot?
ReplyDeleteAlso, encourage conservative leaders from all of these wonderful organizations to work together more- ie. stop soliciting funds separately and join together. People like myself are financially limited and cannot send money to all the worthy conservative organizations...many of which are pulling the same wagon anyway. Instead, join together and pool resources, thus multiplying and maximizing every dollar sent in.
