If only he would veto more. More on the budget vetoes. The revenue portion needs some line item vetoes!

Well, Mr. DiNapoli, what is your response?

Rick Lazio on how he would run the state.

More on the Dodd/Frank disaster, more here and here.

With all due respect to the Republicans, reach into your own wallet, and do what is RIGHT! How serious are you if you need taxpayers to pay for your trip?

Finally! It only took 70 long days. The Heritage Foundation has a plan.

Thomas Sowell on the US Supreme Court's ruling on gun control.

Elena Kagan and here, this will make you think about her future decisions.

Uncharted waters.

Good news and Great News!

The Wall Street Journal excoriates the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill and we couldn't agree more.

The Heritage Foundation on Elana Kagan. And Kagan loses in the Supreme Court.

Chairman Long to Chairman Ralph Lorigo resign.

Could Congressman Weiner lose?

The Supreme Court protects Americans ruling all Americans have the fundamental right to bear arms.

And New York continues to hurt New Yorkers, while they bury proposals that would not pass on their own.

One of the reasons the New York budget has problems. And a way to fix it.

Weekly Wrap-Up

Gen. McChrystal is out of a job this week after his ill-advised interview with Rolling Stone magazine, as he should be. I can think of a few others whose job performance isn’t up to par...

First off, the U.S. Labor Department, where the top priority seems to be advocating for illegal aliens (advocacy that’s paid for by our tax dollars, of course)...

And then there’s Sen. Chris Dodd, who admits to having no idea what he’s doing.
“No one will know until this is actually in place how it works,” Dodd says of the sweeping Big Government overhaul of the U.S. economy that he masterminded, and President Obama is expected to soon sign into law.

Keeping their fingers crossed seems to be the Democrats’ new governing strategy.

The Obama Administration and Vice-President Joe Biden aren’t doing such a great job with the full and total transparency they promised.

Will the U.S. Senate do its job and
ask some tough questions of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan? Don’t count on Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand to step up to the plate.

In Washington and Albany, the politicians are bound and determined to tax us like there’s no tomorrow...

At the Conservative Party, our message has not changed: Spending is the problem... taxes are not the solution. The Heritage Foundation and Rep. Paul Ryan are both on the job when it comes to pinpointing the exact spending problems facing America, and what we should do about it...

Here in New York, Andrew Cuomo is doing a bang-up job – assuming his job is hypocrisy...

Have a great weekend!

Looks like New York is planning on taxing everything in sight. We need you to contact your legislator and tell them NO NEW OR INCREASED TAXES the only acceptable way to close the gap is to CUT SPENDING. This is an election year and they need to know that you are fed up with them taxing, taxing, taxing. Speaker Silver wants to continue taxing to throw more money into education...with the billions being spent in education, our children are not receiving a better education. We need accountability, not more money given to the multi-levels of bureaucracy in education. Another way to help our children have a good education is to have their Mother and Father take an interest in their education, by letting divorce become easier in New York State, our children pay the price.

Various articles on the McChrystal departure here, here, here, and here.

Mr. President, you stand alone at the G-20 conference.

Not surprising, Gen. McChrystal has been relieved of duty in Afghanistan. The bigger problem is outlined in the Heritage Foundation's article Obama's Leadership Vacuum.

More problems in the BP oil leak as two helping in cleanup die and an undersea robot bumps vent causing BP to remove cap that was containing some of the crude. Have you seen this reported by the media...don't hold your breath.

Are they kidding? Mexico should be more concerned about taking care of their own problems by ending the drug lords control of their country than what laws Arizona passes to protect their citizens.

No surprise here.

I'm pretty sure that this is not how the $8000 first time home buyer's credit was supposed to be used: "A common scam had multiple taxpayers using the sale of a single home, with each claiming the credit. One home was used by 67 tax filers, the report said. In other cases, taxpayers got the credit for sales that happened before the tax break started." Read more here. Without the credit, home sales have slipped 33%, another sign of a very weak recovery.

The surprise here is that the Democrats control both houses and the Executive Branch and it is even more dysfunctional. How do they explain all those years of blaming the Republicans and Conservatives for the dysfunction?

More bad news for New Yorkers. No matter how they resolve the budget, rest assured the democrats will hit your wallet again and again. Call your legislator and tell them NO MORE TAXES, CUT SPENDING. Governor Paterson states pretty clearly that he will continue to tax New Yorkers at every level possible.

News from the Conservative Party Candidates: Rick Lazio, Harry Wilson , and here and Jay Townsend, all representing new leadership for New York.

Heritage Foundations thoughts on Afghanistan and Thomas Sowell on the Degeneration of Democracy.

Shame on our Legislators for voting to help terrorist. Does being re-elected really mean more than protecting the citizens of this once great state? Who truly believes that the budget will see one penny from the Indian Reservations? Not us, nor the NY Post.

The VAT goes up again in Europe! Taxing isn't the answer in Europe, America or New York!! Government is not our saviour....government cannot solve every problem...and those who keep thinking it can are doomed to failure.

Millions of our dollars unaccounted for in a program that should not have one taxpayer penny!

What does the Independence Party stand for? David Seifman has a good part of the answer in his column.

Michael Goodwin opines on the morass in Albany.

Mayor Bloommberg understands what would happen in New York if they pass the so called "medical" marijuana and rightly says "It has nothing to do with medicine".

Brendan Scott's article on the proposed outrageous increase in the cigarette tax (hope you read our press release sent out on Saturday). This from the National Taxpayer's Union on the proposed outrageous tax.

Guess it isn't only cigarettes that are not taxed on Indian Reservations.

Feds apparently have new bank fees on the way.

And the Feds say National Standards are necessary, but don't they really undermine the States?

The New York Post Editorial critiques the roll of unions in today's world.

Sage advice for graduates (and all of us) from Justice Scalia.
