Weekly Wrap-up

This week we welcomed some of the world’s most violent, barbaric tyrants to New York – including Libyan lunatic Moammar Gaddafi (http://tinyurl.com/yalugms), Iranian thug and Holocaust denier Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (http://tinyurl.com/ycfvfk2) and Venezuelan madman Hugo Chavez, (http://tinyurl.com/y8pn5w2) – as the United Nations once again proved just how useless it really is.

So many brutal dictators, so many shameless oppressors – and yet who was apologizing? Our very own President, Barack Obama, whose reference to America as “my nation” brilliantly illustrated his self-involved approach to the world we live in.

Oh, and according to Obama, his country is not so horrible now that he’s President. Here’s the speech, if you’d like to read it – though we here at the Conservative Party don’t advocate such brutal torture:
http://tinyurl.com/lxnb26

And here’s some outstanding analysis from The Heritage Foundation, where they help us remember that as Americans, we have nothing to be ashamed of:
http://tinyurl.com/yaomhh5

It seems that Gov. David Paterson is no longer on the Obama bandwagon:
http://tinyurl.com/nmmdtz

But of course, the President still has plenty of supporters, including a big fan down in Cuba...
http://tinyurl.com/mpkgmm

And even his fellow UN performer, Mr. Gaddafi, is an admirer:
http://tinyurl.com/mv99m2

Speaking of Cuba, let’s not forget the President’s plans for government-run health care.

This week we’ve seen Congress and the White House oppose a simple measure to let the American people (and their elected representatives) know exactly what is in health care legislation passed by Congress:
http://tinyurl.com/yb2z2uw

And we’ve seen the Obama Administration and members of Congress crack down on those who speak out against the health care “reforms” they’re pushing:
http://tinyurl.com/y8q8llb

I’m sure plenty of President Obama’s friends at the U.N. would be impressed by these strong-arm tactics. I’m not.

That’s it for now. Have a great weekend, and check back next week for all the news and information, including new developments in the 23rd congressional district campaign.

The 23rd Congressional Race has not been set by the Governor yet, but it still is very interesting! http://tinyurl.com/yacz7pn The Club for Growth did a poll they released to the public today and the Headline is "New Poll Shows Statistical Three Way Tie in NY-23 Special Election -- Scozzafava 20%, Hoffman and Owens at 17% Conservative Party Leads in Generic Ballot Test (emphasis is mine) http://tinyurl.com/ycn2wyp Are you beginning to believe a "Jim Buckley" repeat?

We certainly need Doug Hoffman in Congress! He will vote the right way when it comes to the Health Care issue - http://tinyurl.com/yajzuf3 While we could use his help in the Senate when Baucus stifles free speech http://tinyurl.com/mtunz5 we are certain he will be our strong voice against the left wing agenda of Speaker Nancy Peolsi. Karl Rove opines on Health Care http://tinyurl.com/nrxvxe as does Ann Coulter with her fifth installment: http://tinyurl.com/ydjap2q

The President didn't score well at the United Nations http://tinyurl.com/ybs4u8e either. Maybe we all have a little "Obama Fatigue". Not a good sign with more than three years left...

As the NY Post states http://tinyurl.com/yeng9je "New York may be heading down the same perilous path as the Golden State" and then ends with a question "Does any one care?" The Conservative Party has been calling for spending cuts and makes solid, reasonable suggestions in its Legislative Program since it became a viable political party. The answer is "Yes, we care" and more people are beginning to as well. We will make a difference, in the 23rd Congressional Race and throughout New York State.

Obama was tested last week http://tinyurl.com/mvr5fr Did he fail?

The Census and now IRS have severed their association with ACORN, http://tinyurl.com/mxmvum Do you thing Congressman Barney Frank will ever learn? http://tinyurl.com/l8bq3q

Here's hoping the voters in New York City have learned from past mistakes, however it doesn't look that way according to today's NY Post Editorial http://tinyurl.com/n2e4yj

Legislators apparently haven't learned that SPENDING is the problem: http://tinyurl.com/n3mmvq

The DCCC released a campaign ad for its candidate in the 23 CD http://tinyurl.com/mo89lb It includes the 190 times DeDe Scozzafava voted to increase taxes.

On a lighter note, Thomas Sowell writes how Americans tend to be on the side of the underdog... nothing new to Conservatives. Gives us all the more reason to believe that our candidate in the 23 CD, Doug Hoffman, will be the next Congressman. http://tinyurl.com/mbxhhs

Justice is blind, as the saying goes, but, today Justice was more than blind, it trampled the State Constitution. http://tinyurl.com/l9kwhs The highest court in the state played politics, and we will pay the price. As judicial conventions take place this week, my hope is that the delegates nominate people with integrity, people strong enough to review the law as written and not as they wish it had been written.
