Yesterday, the NYS Conservative Party concluded its annual conference and if you were unable to attend, you missed a great conference. Congressman Peter King, exploring a run for US Senate, former Congressman Rick Lazio, considering a run for Governor, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, definitely staying in public service, either as Attorney General or possibly another office, all received press coverage and the applause of those in attendance.

Dan Janison blogged from the conference, but his title of “Conservative Party conference one of doom and gloom” is certainly controversial at best. http://www.newsday.com/services/newspaper/printedition/monday/longisland/ny-pojani096029897feb09,0,1786413.story It is true that the speakers reported on the fiscal problems that the state and nation face, but in doing so; offered ways to change the fiscal Armageddon government has and continues to create. Participants at the conference were energized to know that many in government understood the need to change the wasteful spending habits that have driven government so very long. Conservatives understand that the populist message is easy for many people to seek and fall into a trap with, but conservatives know that it is not in their best interest to let government be the provider. Our Constitution is not based on government handouts...it is based on the least amount of government interference in our lives.
Rich Lowry has a great column in today’s New York Post http://www.nypost.com/seven/02102009/postopinion/opedcolumnists/new_prez_just_like_reagan___in_reverse_154413.htm .

Breaking on Fox News this AM was a story about health care rationing for the elderly being hidden in the “stimulus bill.” More on that later...

  1. A good friend of mine was planning to attend the conservative conference. I asked if I could tag along. I wanted to learn more about the conservative party in New York. I was pleasantly surprised. At the end of the Sunday conference I turned to my host and told him I was impressed by nine out of ten speakers. I am sorry to say that Mr. Lazio disappointed me. I am afraid he has some cool-aide stains on his shirt. He may be a wonderful moderate republican but he does not embrace the standards of the conservative party. It is obvious that the true conservatives are founded on one cornerstone. This cornerstone had been placed and defined by our founding fathers. They had to choose a point to set the founding stone. This point happens to be the GOD we trust. Should you need to build your home you would start with a plume line on a chosen point. From that point you build your breadth width and height . During this process, to remain consistent, you use Standard tools ie level, ruler, and plum. By building with Standards your building will realize longevity. The Conservative party has it's standards and continues to build and adhere to the application of these Standards. The Liberals ,Democrats, and large portion of the Republicans have lost sight or worse yet remain unaware of the building Standards. When all is shaken, the house built on the Rock shall stand.

  2. Both the Conservative and Republican Parties MUST get back to supporting The Peoples Second Amendment Rights as supported by SCOTUS and further.
When Rep. C McCarthy opens her mouth against guns and Kirsten Gillibrands stand on guns (pro-gun) she keeps showing how stupid she is about the Colin Ferguson Train Massacre that it is a NY City Law that allowed him to kill/injure people on that train that day, since law-abiding-gun-owners that have licenses/permits to carry concealed guns in the state are NOT allowed to carry them in/out of NY City thus creating a ' Zone of Defenseless People ' that would otherwise be protected by the law-abiding citizens.
As we are NOT the criminals, we are treated more like one even though we have been deemed ' good ' by the Fed, State and Local Gov'ts.

We also need candidates that aren't corrupt or tarnished!
