Weekly Wrap-Up

The biggest, most important topic of the week? Getting the Olympics for Chicago in 2016. At least, that’s what seemed to be President Obama’s top priority for the week.

Does the President think they’re going to make “Giving a Prime Time Speech” an Olympic event? He’d win the gold medal, of course.

Here at the Conservative Party, we have other concerns. It’s been a busy week here at The Good Fight blog. Shaun Marie has posted plenty of articles that I hope you’ve all enjoyed. Among this week’s hottest topics...

In the campaign in the 23rd Congressional District, Doug Hoffman won plenty of important endorsements this week. Here’s a rundown:

We’re getting closer and closer to a full-fledged “debate” over health care reform, though look for any inconvenient truths from conservatives to be silenced. Here’s an article with the latest (http://tiny.cc/EPIic), including a cameo from New York’s Chuck Schumer, still peddling the “public option” Big Government health care solution though it’s been rejected time and again.

And remember how the Democrats were outraged when Rep. Joe Wilson said “You lie!” after President Obama repeated false claims about health care reform? Those same Democrats seem to be okay with one of their own comparing Republicans to Nazis and murderers:

The Democrats are in a rush on health care, but when it comes to winning in Afghanistan – and more importantly, doing what’s right for America’s troops over there – they have plenty of patience with the dithering Obama Administration... and they’re not at all eager to hear from top military officials like Gen. Stanley McChrystal: http://tiny.cc/v7sUR

I guess we’ll need a lot of patience when it comes to all the jobs that were supposed to be created by the Obama Administration’s “stimulus” bill. So far, they’re nowhere to be found:

And we’re still waiting for tax dodger Charlie Rangel to do what’s right and resign from the Ways and Means committee. Don't hold your breath on that one, but there is increasing pressure to keep him away from the tax laws he refuses to follow: http://tiny.cc/fVr6P

Running out of patience here... I’m ready for the weekend. Have a good one, and come back next week for all of the big stories.

(Oh, and about the Olympics? Sorry, Mr. President: Seems the Olympic Committee likes Chicago about as much as the American people like your health care agenda:
