Weekly Wrap-Up

The Nobel Prize? Seriously? http://tinyurl.com/ykjmpxp

I’ll leave it to the experts to analyze the absurdity of this spectacle – and I’m sure we’ll hear plenty in the coming week about courageous individuals around the world who have stood up to tyranny and made true sacrifices for freedom, and who are more deserving of this honor.

In the meantime, I’m ready to close out the week by handing out a few prizes of my own...

Prize for spending other people’s money: The liberals in Washington, who have driven up the deficit to unprecedented levels: http://tinyurl.com/yefzd7c (And let’s throw in a “Blame Bush” honorable mention as well.)

Prize for refusing to learn from history: The economic geniuses on Capitol Hill who are calling for yet another “stimulus” blitz after the utter failure of their earlier spending spree:

And another prize to this crew for driving down the value of the U.S. dollar: http://tinyurl.com/yk3unkf

Prize for most creative number crunching: CBO and Senate Democrats: http://tinyurl.com/yjqwksz

Prize for looking the other way: Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in Washington who have once again ignoring Charlie Rangel’s hypocrisy and corruption: http://tinyurl.com/yjj7zyf

Prize for digging a little deeper: The House Ethics Committee, which is expanding the Rangel investigation: http://tinyurl.com/y8h22rn

Prize for creating needless political controversy: The GOP powers-that-be in Washington who decided to antagonize conservatives by nominating an ACORN/Working Families Party liberal for the open House seat in the 23rd Congressional district.

Here’s a story Shaun Marie posted yesterday that’s worth another look... http://tinyurl.com/ylpjby2

The Republican powerbrokers have turned what should have been a pretty straightforward race into a battle over principles. This is a fight the Conservative Party intends to win.

Have a great holiday weekend, and we’ll see you here next week...
