Weekly Wrap-Up

“Redistribution and lingering dependency — it’s not just an Obama thing,” warns the New York Post, explaining a $2 million plan by Andrew Cuomo for new handouts for Medicaid recipients.

This is just the latest bad idea from New York politicians. The New York City Council is churning out dangerous proposals to hamstring law enforcement. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly demolishes them all. “These bills are unworkable at best,” he warns. “At worst, they’d put police officers’ lives at risk.”

We all know that bad ideas concocted in New York City can easily go statewide once the liberals in Albany get inspired. So here’s a question for all New Yorkers: Whose side are you on? Commissioner Kelly and the men and women of law enforcement? Or the liberals who think the police, not the criminals, are the real problem? Vote now in our new Weekly Poll.

More ideas from President Obama – “The New Economic Patriotism: A Plan for Jobs and Middle-Class Security,” which outlines Obama’s second term agenda. I’m not calling these “bad” ideas because they’re just too old, empty and meaningless to describe.

Rich Lowry does his best here to analyze this “artifact of the diminishment of President Obama.”

John Podhoretz offers even more proof of that diminishment…

And even more evidence from Charles Krauthammer…

Stop Believing in Obama,” advises the Washington Times, adding: “The American people have no obligation to devote another four years of their lives to a man who has failed them. The country deserves better.”

Indeed we do. Have a great weekend!
