Weekly Wrap-Up

This story pretty much sums up the week: "Dead People Get Stimulus Checks." This is from the New York FOX station, but this kind of thing is happening all over the country:

Absurd, but not surprising. We’re starting to get a better picture of how the stimulus package that was supposed to save America is just more of the same – irresponsible spending with no accountability... and with no real impact, either. This is interesting:

“An Associated Press analysis of the first $19 billion in transportation spending showed that communities most in need of jobs are least likely to benefit from the program.”

We’re also getting more evidence – as though we needed more – that the Obama Administration will do and say anything to dupe people into thinking that their ideas work. Here’s a “Fact Check” from the Associated Press...

According to this, “Capturing the full effect of the stimulus at this early stage is difficult, but the administration has set high bars for success. In championing those successes, however, the White House plays a little loose with the facts.”

A little? Probably an understatement – but it’s good to see any example of the media questioning the Obama Administration.

It’s also good to see conservatives – and the media – holding Nancy Pelosi accountable for what she knew and when she knew it about “torture.”

But Nancy Pelosi calling the CIA a bunch of liars? Not so good. (Or, from another perspective: Having a Speaker of the House who is apparently very easily duped: Not so good.) Here’s the latest from the Nancy Pelosi saga...

I like this quote from Sen. Kit Bond: “I am afraid she has disremembered what she went through.”

Disremembered? I didn’t even know that was a word... but it does suit the Speaker quite well. Listening to her trying to spin her way out of this story... now that’s torture.

I hope all the New York Democrats are proud of their leader. You can bet the Conservative Party will be holding them accountable on everything from national security to taxes and spending.
