The Heritage Foundation on "The Obama Elite vs. the American People"

Steve Malanga's excellent article on Feds' Food Fog

Peter Vallone, Jr. makes some very good points.

Lost cost "medical marihuana" in Washington, DC. So will they soon cover it in Obamacare? (Not that far fetched a thought, let's not forget that Viagra was covered for sex offenders)

Social Security is in the RED, anyone surprised?

E. J. McMahon on the state budget.

Michael Goodwin to Mayor Bloomberg: Don't Play the Bigotry Card! From Dorothy Rabinowitz, writing in today WSJ, on the possible building of the Mosque, part of which states "Dr. Zuhdi Jasser—devout Muslim, physician, former U.S. Navy lieutenant commander and founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy—says there is every reason to investigate the center's funding under the circumstances. Of the mosque so near the site of the 9/11 attacks, he notes "It will certainly be seen as a victory for political Islam."

One state speaks out on Obamacare. As Betsy McCaughey reminds us, the fight is long from being over.

Another birdbrain idea from a NY Member of Congress. How your stimulus money is being spent.

Let's get the Gulf back to work.

Cause for concern....hmmm, no problem with changing Constitution on this, but just mentioning looking at this, has the Left/Progressives crying foul!

Part II of Thomas Sowell's Democrats bite Democrats.

The ACLU has crossed many lines, but this one, puts all Americans in harms way!

Time to get rid of Fannie and Freddie.

Good news from Virginia, and New York's Attorney General, Governor Wannabe, does nothing to protect New Yorkers. More on Virginia's first round win. Wouldn't it be nice to know your Attorney General was looking out for your interest....instead of his own. The Heritage Foundation on Virginia's win.

Dan Senor takes a page from Pope John Paul, II. More on the symbolism of the Mosque.

No details yet, but be certain, it will hurt your wallet.

It must be Tuesday and Thomas Sowell has words of wisdom.

Taxpayers continue to be under assault at every level of government. Steve Malanga on the Muni-Bond Debt Bomb; Heritage Foundation on Its about the Spending, Speaker, Lame Duck Tax Hike Planned in Human Events, George Marlin on the NY State Budget-- Nothing but Blue Smoke and Mirrors and in NYC you are paying $5.7 M for food. Question to Mayor Bloomberg: If you understand this, why do you spend so much? If voters fail to make real changes in November, there will be no stopping the spending.

Obama may see the writing on the wall.

So Long, Middle Class and Nanny State Blues.

Just in case you missed Congressman Weiner's rant on the congressional floor last week. (Please get this man a new job, obviously the stress of being a congressman is too much for him.)

The Cordoba Mosque in the news out on Long Island. Hey Andy, are you investigating the money yet??

First Congressman Rangel, now Congresswoman Waters, who next Mrs. Speaker?

Defense Secretary Gates on the Wikileaks.

Weekly Wrap-Up

This week, Charlie Rangel continued to put New York in the news.

Will Charlie be able to deal his way out of this?

The New York Post says it’s game over for Rangel.

But this week has also shown that there’s no shortage of questionable ethics among America’s political class.

This kind of campaigning is perhaps not unethical, strictly speaking, but it’s certainly offensive and embarrassing.

Speaking of campaigns – congratulations on your contribution to Rep. Alan Grayson’s reelection bid in Florida.

Questions are being raised about the legal and political ethics of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee – but don’t expect Sens. Schumer or Gillibrand to be bothered by these serious charges.

Plenty of questions, too, about the Cordoba Mosque being planned for Ground Zero – specifically, where the money’s come from to build this tribute to Islam at the place where radical Islamic terrorists killed thousands of innocent people.

Rick Lazio wants to debate the issue, and is demanding that Andrew Cuomo investigate the matter, but Cuomo – who generally avoids investigations only when they’re not politically convenient for the left – stubbornly refuses to explore the matter. What do you think? Give your opinion in our Weekly Poll.

Sen. John Kerry’s tax dodge on his $7 million yacht has raised plenty of questions about the hypocrisy of all the leftists who support higher taxes, as well as the wisdom of those taxes.

Will defeated Democrats hold an unprecedented “lame duck” session to push through their most unpopular policies? Some sensible Republicans are trying to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Not that Democrats have much concern for the rule of law, checks and balances or the legislative process, as we can see in their new plans for a “backdoor amnesty” for illegal aliens. Here's more info on that.

The silver lining is, the Administration’s reckless pursuit of amnesty is causing some in Congress to take a look at sensible ways to discourage illegal immigration.

Have a great weekend!

Another frivolous lawsuit by the left. And good words of advice to Ms. Sherrod from Larry Elder.

New chart on Obamacare.

Time again to remember Morning in America.

Daniel Henninger on: Taxes, a defining Issue. Speaking on taxes, another article on how much more you will pay if the Bush tax cuts expire. The AP on the 2011 economy. Letting Bush tax cuts die would kill economy.

The Heritage Foundation on Obama's assault on the Rule of Law.

Did he reach a deal? Is the deal accepted?

Ralph Peters on the forgotten soldiers.

Disappointing ruling from Clinton appointed Judge Susan Bolton, albeit recommended by Senator John Kyl. Governor Jan Brewer on the decision.

We are slowly allowing our Congress to turn America into Venezuela! America has 97 days until it can change its course ...be vigilant. More reasons to elect a new Congress. And then there is Congressman Rangel. While we are at it, the CBO speaks of the Risk of Fiscal Crisis.

Hmmm, wonder what Judge Susan Bolton would rule on this.

Good question to Andy from Gov. George Pataki on Capital News Tonight. How long before Andy answers?

The record is August 11 for a late state budget....will the record be broken this year?

Grading eateries, but not hospitals, another good article by Betsy McCaughey.

Good columns by Michelle Malkin , Larry Kudlow, and of course, Thomas Sowell.

Pension Fund Abuse and the NY Times on Albany has two payrolls.
