Welcome aboard Mr. Paladino. Now lets get to work so we can bring about serious fiscal change to all New Yorkers.

Congratulations to Joseph DioGuardi, Harry J. Wilson and Dan Donovan on their endorsements by the Editorial Board of the New York Post!

Michael Goodwin reminds readers that Andrew Cuomo quickly embraced his left and under a Cuomo administration....really nothing would change in New York, something every New Yorker must remember on November 2, 2010. Of course, we will be here to remind you of that fact over the next five weeks.

Karl Rove writes of Obama's albatross. And we can add this albatross to the Members of Congress.

Thomas Sowell...(yes, I know it is Thursday, but I could not let his words of wisdom not be posted this week....)

Weekly Wrap-Up

More “profiles in courage” from Washington... Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand and their fellow liberals are punting on the tax issue until after Election Day (and after they’ll have to face any consequences for raising taxes.)

That means hardly any of us have any idea what kind of taxes we’ll be facing next year – and that uncertainty is bad for our already struggling economy. But as long as Kirsten and Chuck aren’t worried about having to make any tough decisions, we should all be thankful – right?

What do you think about the politicians’ wait-till-later stand on the tax issue? Cowardly or courageous? Let us know what you think on this week’s Poll.

It is possible Sen. Gillibrand could be a “lame duck” after Election Day...

In the AG race, Eric Schneiderman pulls a Kerry – he was for the MTA bailout tax increase before he was against it...

Maybe this hypocrisy is why some polls show the AG race as the closest in the state.

New York is once again front-and-center on the Drudge Report – the featured stories are here and here – thanks to the establishment parties’ gubernatorial candidates...

Charles Krauthammer notes how the Tea Party – in most states – is helping conservatives by rallying behind strong, electable candidates...

In Washington, Nancy Pelosi and the liberals have literally made a joke of Congress.

It’s no surprise that the U.N. would roll out the red carpet for a monster like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but why was the U.S. delegation even playing along in the first place?

What’s truly alarming is that probably the vast majority of those who run the U.N. most likely share Ahmadinejad’s views on the U.S., and would side with him against our country – plus I’d be willing to bet a good number of liberals here at home are open to Ahmadinejad’s take on 9/11.

Have a great weekend!

Well its nice to know that President Obama saved the world from a depression. Maybe the Nobel Prize for Economics will be awarded to him next year.

GM is giving political contributions to mainly democrats, shouldn't they have repaid the taxpayers first?

Hopefully our senior citizens have adopted healthy lifestyle habits that lessen their need for coverage, because it is being cut. Massachusetts struggles with its health care and opens a view for the rest of the nation. Newt on Obamacare and health care expert, Betsy McCaughy's website explains what you can do.

Kudos to NJ Governor Chris Christie!

And Kudos to our Attorney General Candidate, Dan Donovan for wanting to do what is right for New York's citizens.

One more leaving the WH inner circle.

Will Bob Woodward be invited to the WH Christmas Party? ( Oops, make that the Winter Solstice celebration.) The Heritage Foundation asks the question "What is Obama President of Again?"

NRO writes about standing strong against DREAM, and the Washington Times gives Republicans demanding assurances of no backdoor amnesty.

A bonus Thomas Sowell article.

I guess if he is not on the ballot, he doesn't vote!

Is New York heading toward another four years of embarrassment? Seriously, I am quite disappointed in the two major party candidates for Governor of this great state. If you opened Druge Report today, the headline reads "NY: The nastiest campaign, dirt, smears, insults". Fortunately for all New Yorkers, the Conservatives who voted in their primary selected, Rick Lazio overwhelming and he is poised to give all voters in New York a choice. Baruch College political science professor, Doug Muzzio, summed it up this way (regarding the two major party candidates) "Paladino is dragging everyone into the gutter, and the Democrats are jumping in after him." Your can read the whole article here.

Then again, perhaps because of cell phones with cameras and video capabilities, all of the ugly side of politics are being exposed. Certainly there was an element of that last night in Kings county when the Democrats elected their leader. The NY Post Editorial isn't too happy with the Democratic boss.

Speaking of not being too happy, President Obama, must have been taken aback when he had to respond to a successful businesswoman when she told him that she was tired of defending him.

The frustration of today's voters is that elected officials have come to believe that they are the only ones capable of making decisions, unfortunately, many of the elected elite are no longer driven by the the principles that created the greatest country in the world. Equality and justice does not equal wealth distribution...what has always keep America unique, is that anyone could succeed. The majority of today's politicians do not see it that way, they play class warfare, upstate against downstate, and exploit the frustration of voters in order to be elected or keep their seats, they will do or say anything to be elected. They make promises they can't keep, use sound bits to gain attention, sling mud and personal insults, till the average person, throws up their hands in total disgust and either stays home or votes for the person least objectionable. Good candidates have a hard time being heard and sometimes get lost in the shuffle...because many in the media want a "cat fight" or an "interesting" campaign that will sell their advertising space. It is up to us...to raise the bar!

Some are learning that they can't force certain issues.

After years of overspending, the Dutch are cutting spending.

It's Tuesday, and we all need a dose of Thomas Sowell.

Weekly Wrap-Up

This week, the already absurd idea that Andrew Cuomo is an outsider and reformer was dealt another blow. Cuomo is now a proud ally of the ultra-liberal Working Families Party (details here and here). It’s no secret that the WFP’s Big Labor agenda is the root of the many problems facing New York right now.

There should be little doubt that a vote for Cuomo on the WFP line (which he shares with his friend Charlie Rangel) or on the Democrat line (learn more about their latest scandal here) is a vote for corruption and politics as usual.

What do you think about this new Cuomo/WFP marriage? Vote today in our weekly poll.

I wonder what Cuomo-the-Reformer would think about his fellow Democrats’ fundraising antics?

More on the Ground Zero mosque this week: Why in the world should we trust Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf with a new building when he can’t even take care of the ones he already owns?

Forget waterboarding: If we want to pressure terrorists to talk, we should tell them to speak up or spend the night in a Rauf property.

Have you seen the national Democratic Party’s new logo? The Washington Times notes its similarity to the “down” button on an elevator. Others have said the new symbol very appropriately resembles a blue target.

Have a great weekend!

We sounded the alarm about spending, and we have been the voice of reason. Thankfully, we have never given up and we are not about to now. It seems to me that everyone wants to climb on board and sing our song and we welcome all the new comers who are willing to join our positive way of change.

Daniel Henninger says "It's the spending, stupid"

The free spending liberals control government in New York and Washington and today's headlines are "One in seven Americans is living in poverty" hm mm, making people dependent on government apparently doesn't help. "Illegal drug use up sharply last year" certainly isn't a headline that lets one believe that our country is on the right track. The Heritage Foundation advises me that the Senate is taking up the "START" program. I'm certain that will not make us any safer, in fact the Heritage Foundation states it is a threat to our national security. Far too many elected officials use our tax dollars as if the money actually did grow on a tree in the backyard. Foreclosures are rising. And the icing on the cake is more Frannie and Freddie need more of you hard earned dollars.

Across this great nation, people are letting their voices be heard. As the only political party that has been sounding the alarm, we are glad that others are paying attention. You can sing the same song....just remember who wrote the words and music! And remember what happens to those who try to claim authorship when they didn't author the script, they certainly can not execute it properly.

Wow....the primary season is over.... let the games begin....and begin they have.

Maggie Haberman has an article on Mike Long posted before the NY results were in. And a few from others, after the results were in. Check her blog out to read more.

When the closed the book on Conservative Party primaries for 2010, we certainly won more than we lost.

Thomas Sowell's part two of "The Money of Fools" ... and Heritage Foundation on Double Whammy for Seniors

Will catch up with more tomorrow...it has been a very busy week....!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Primary Day has arrived. Please exercise your right to vote...if you don't know where check Monday's postings to fine out. The candidates have presented their credentials, now it is time for your to let your voice be heard.

Rick Lazio and Greg Edwards is the team that brings fresh, positive ideas to save New York. Both have the experience and knowledge of the NY State Constitution to implement legislation that will cut spending and save us from fiscal Armageddon. Angry rhetoric does not resolve the serious problems facing New York and you certainly can not govern when most of what you say spontaneously is full of insults.

Today is your day to have your voice heard.
Bill O'Reilly on the Cordoba Mosque's Rauf and his association with a radical Imam. Click here to watch his "talking points". O'Reilly's guests ends with "follow the money" something Andrew Cuomo refuses to do! Does this sound like a bridge builder? McGurn makes some very good points in his column. NRO writes about One Imam, Multiple Messages.
Obamacare is in the news again. Former Governor Pataki on Obama's mess. And the Washington Times, chimes in.
More words of wisdom from Thomas Sowell.
The Polls close at 9:00 PM...Let the politicians know where you stand.
Rick Lazio and Greg Edwards for
all New Yorkers who want Positive results!

Weekly Wrapup

We end this week on a somber note, at a time of reflection and remembrance for all New Yorkers, and for all Americans. My thoughts on political shenanigans here at home and in Washington, on campaign dramas and election strategies, can wait until Monday. All of that seems insignificant in light of the national horror we experienced nine years ago tomorrow.

This weekend all of us at the Conservative Party will say a prayer for those who lost loved ones on that terrible day, and for those who lived through the ordeal and know they will never be the same.

And we share with everyone memories of the small yet profound horrors of 9/11 – the moment of realization that something brutal and barbaric was happening to our country... the seconds when the memory of “where we were” on September 11 set in... the minutes, hours and even days frantically calling friends and loved ones to make sure they were safe, and that their friends and loved ones were out of harm’s way. And we remember the overwhelming relief of hearing a voice, seeing a face, and knowing at least for a moment, everything was okay.

9/11 Families for America has a full list of the almost 3,000 people who were murdered that day. It is simply overwhelming. 9/11 Families for America is also an excellent resource for news and information on the debate we must have over how to best secure our nation against future attacks, and deal with the ongoing threat of militant Islam.

Proponents of the Ground Zero mosque don’t help their cause with veiled threats of violence against America if they don’t get their way (one needn’t look far from the site of the proposed mosque to understand what the “backlash” feared by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf might entail).

But maybe a bit of good news: There seems to be
some progress in how Ground Zero will be memorialized and revitalized, though many logistical questions remain...

We’ll post a new poll question on Monday. Until then, take care.

An interesting case to watch as it works its way to the Supreme Court.

While the publicity hungry pastor of an extremely small congregation in Florida does not deserve any attention, the NRO has an excellent column on his plans.

If you are looking for your "extra" money, check here.

One reason the regents get away with this is because only one political party has input.

We hope you all enjoyed the Labor Day Weekend! Some of the articles below ran over the weekend and are included in case you missed them. The Heritage Foundation on Labor Day.
Gov. Deval Patrick (MA) on the First Amendment.

The Wages of Stimulus.

The Obama Tax and Spend hikes. Stimulus for infrastructure? NRO: Another stimulus, another bailout.
NRO on the Case for Marriage.
Thomas Sowell on Political Fables

Weekly Wrap-Up

Our President seemed like he would have preferred to be on vacation when he delivered his oval office address this week, instead of being truly protective of our brave Armed Forces.

Maybe he was thinking about his “Summer of Recovery” that will end this Labor Day weekend and frankly, while we all enjoy the summer, we cannot afford any more “Summer of Recovery” as the Periscope Post describes the real possibility of the “Autumn of Double Dip”. Despite the bad news on the job front, there is some good news in the latest numbers, and with polls showing the probability of new leadership in the House, the out of control spending that has hampered the recovery may well end.

Things here in New York State mirror the Nation. But we also have the ability to make a difference. Our Conservative Republican candidate for comptroller, Harry J. Wilson, issued a report this week that outlines the problems looming in the public pension system, while the current comptroller outlines on the state comptroller’s website how to “pad” your pension, while lamenting the short fall.

Election season is truly upon us, and as we start to focus on whom we should entrust with our lives, it is important to understand that many things influence how government is run. This article is a good insight on how just how lawyers in the legislature are making it easier for a “nanny state”.

Primary day is just a short 12 days away, and Rick Lazio has been at the forefront of educating the public about the Cordoba Mosque. Rick Lazio, like the Conservative Party, staunchly supports our First Amendment, but we also understands the history associated with Cordoba. And need to know more about who is behind the funding of it.

Enjoy the Labor Day Weekend!

Thursday, September 2, 2010

More on the President's speech. Daniel Henninger on "If Saddam Had Stayed?"

More on tax dollars for Muslims.

Congressman Eric Cantor on the dangers of the Obama tax increase (expiration of the Bush tax cuts)

Larry Kudlow with some good news and good old fashion faith in American businesses.

Conservative Republican candidate for Comptroller, Harry J. Wilson, does not see a bright future for the NYS pension fund.

After forcing a conservative gubernatorial primary as the "more conservative candidate" Lorigo, seems to have a different definition of conservative values than most conservatives have.

New York's City Council can really find ways to waste money.

Mayor Mike, hope you read how foolish you look.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

The Heritage Foundation critiques President Obama's speech. They also have a position paper on defining the Obama Administration and well worth the read. The Corner weighs in also.

Are they really that deaf? The President hinted in his speech and today they are calling for more stimulus spending. Fortunately, people like Joe Miller will hopefully win in November to stop the out of control spending.

A group of doctors want Obamacare repealed.

Michele Malkin on the US submission to the Human Rights Commission Report.

Also on the Corner, Katrina Trinko, takes the WSJ Editorial on Feisal Abdul Rauf to task. More on Rauf.

Interesting, apparently the cigarette tax is not the only tax the Seneca's don't want to pay.
